Hi all,

I sure you can tell from my absence that I’m been busy lately. I’ve been on the road for WiresharkU and other vendors.

Here’s what’s new on the website;
- I’ve updated my Wireshark info on the website
o http://thetechfirm.com/ethereal/ethereal.html

- Good read on 802.11n : 10 things you should know about 802.11n
o http://tinyurl.com/2kx3ft

- Scott has launched his new website www.bitcricket.com and is offering a really cool free download “ip subnet calculator” with some unique
features like automatically putting your ip info into the calculator as well as some ipv6 features. Check it out.

- The Tolly report has an informative write up on; Nortel: Ethernet Routing Switch 4548GT-PWR Competitive Layer 2 Performance Evaluation
vs Cisco Catalyst 3560G-48PS and 3750G-48PS
o http://tinyurl.com/2whrqt

Here’s a Wireshark tip I haven’t put on my website yet;
You can select your VPN driver when capturing data to help troubleshoot applications using your VPN connection. The data is unencrypted. Very cool.

I'm planning to start my old "how to" video tutorials on my site again.

In case I don’t get an email out to you in the next few months, have a great winter, XMAS and New Years

Regards,

HI everyone,

As luck should have it, I emailed everyone 2 days ago and just got this document worth reading from the Tolly Group.

Microsoft Corporation: Enhanced Network Performance with Microsoft Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008

With the release of the Windows Vista client operating system, and the upcoming release of Windows Server 2008 network managers face the prospect of integrating these next-generation operating systems into their current networks alongside computers running Windows XP and Windows Server 2003.

As always, nice work from the Tolly Group.
